How to Appply Iron-on Rhinestone Appliques
Read the instructions regarding what settings to use on the iron when dealing with a particular type of fabric. Thinner, more delicate fabrics (as well as synthetics) require lower temperature than more sturdy fabrics such as denim or cotton.
Place your applique where you want to apply it on the fabric or clothing. This way, you can see how it will look and whether or not it will fit prior to fixing it on.
Turn the item face down with the applique still in place on an ironing board. Do NOT iron on hard surfaces or carpet. You will either burn the fabric or melt the carpet!
Very gently iron around the area of the fabric where you can feel the applique's edge begin underneath. Begin at the edge and work your way over the applique from one side to another, making sure not to miss a spot.
Let the item sit and cool for a few minutes before turning it over. If you move it too soon, the applique will not adhere to the fabric. Look over the applique and make sure it is completely affixed to the item/fabric. If there are any loose edges, turn the item/fabric back over and iron that area again. Any loose areas will eventually peel off.
